Many Angles, Jutes, and Saxons believe that the Dry are evil wizards living among, yet apart, from the tribes of Britons to the west, or in surviving pockets in the east. These individuals tend to be feared, and many believe that powerful charms are needed to counteract the Dry’s magic and curses.

(Dry is derived from the Old Irish drui, the same root that gives the modern English word, “druid.” Drycræft is an Old English word for sorcery or magic, but sometimes refers to a type of evil or demonic magic since the Anglo-Saxons tended to demonize the Britons they sought to conquer. Players should be aware that non-Anglo-Saxons like the Britons will have different understandings and perspectives.)
