Beagnoth is a traveling scop and gleeman. In the spring of 536, he traveled north from the southern coast with the Frankish merchant, Leod, to Seaxwulf’s newly established meadhall. During that trip, he accompanied Wulfgar, Osbeorn, Eardwuld, and Wilfrið in search of some missing men from Leod’s group, and he was present when that party slew a monstrous fiend that had killed the men.
